A Story of Isolation

Pic by Angelrays

I ran across a great post at The Higher Calling today. The subject of the post is isolation.

The author, Matt Dickerson, spins a tale that will probably resonate, at least a bit, with many. I know I can relate to parts of his story. The post, “Defeating Isolation,” chronicles Matt’s thoughts after his pastor pointed out that some in his church did not like him and found him standoffish.

The best part of the story though, is how Matt overcame and stayed true to his calling in the LORD. It is a pretty good tale.

Check it out, and have a great evening.

  • I’m glad you all liked Matt’s article. Thanks for the link.

And I have to say, I’m loving the name of your site! My son and I are pretty much obsessed with pirates–from our pirate ship tree house, to the pirate gospel (not flattering, I’m afraid), to my recent favorite from Gene Wolfe, Pirate Freedom.

Normally I wouldn’t give links like this, but I have to share pirate lore with you, right?

  • Capt. Eban:

That tree “ship” is awesome. I really liked the hammock beneath. That is backyard luxury. Looks like the young ones are having a blast there.

I also love how your son putting his sticker on the bible is his way of playing pirate with God. If more children had that fun view of the walk with the LORD, maybe modern culture would lose some of it’s negative grip.

Great stuff! The poem is tremendous.

Thanks for commenting. I enjoyed that pirate adventure in your links.

    Argh!
