About Us:The Jesus Pirate Way
There is One God
To be a Pirate in the Lord’s service, you must pledge your service and love to the one true God, who comes to us in three distinct personas. Jesus Pirates believe in the Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Pirates believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us from our sinful ways, and that by dying on the cross has given us our path to everlasting life. We believe in the resurrection, and that Jesus sits at the right hand of his Father to intercede on our behalf for our sins and imperfections.
Bringing People to Faith
We are Pirates in the lords service, and as such we are to plunder souls for the Lord by leading by example. Pirates do not tell, as talk is cheap. We show the Faith, in love and inclusion.
If there is one term a Pirate should never utter, it would be, “Love the Sinner but Hate the Sin.”
There is no place in the Pirate’s Faith for thinking like this.
As Pirates, we must first accept that not everyone will be saved. God gave us free will, and some will choose not to follow this path. All we can do is be there for those that do choose, or are curious. We can’t, ever, be the cause of a person turning away from the Faith, maybe forever. That is truly a sin.
People are the choices they make, and it is not up to us to condemn. By condemning, we push souls away. Only God can condemn, it is not our place. We are implored to love, and to forgive, and to include. Only Jesus and the Holy Spirit can bring a person to God, we are only vessels to channel the message. We cannot be a channel for the Lord’s love if we produce disdain or anger in others.
Think about this…
“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters.. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls.. So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.. So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.”
(Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22 NIV)
That is our calling as Pirates, to go into the world and love and accept, and in the process, show others how great living in the Faith can be.
You can’t convince someone before their time. Everything will come to people in their own time, for reasons not known to us. We must trust the Lord’s plan. We need to be there when people get ready to make the hard choices. We can’t be there if we are too busy judging and condemning.
We also must devote a lot of time to the planks in our own eyes.
The role of a Pirate is also a warrior, we have to be willing to stand up to those in the Faith that forget these things. I don’t care how important a person thinks he is in the Faith, or how high, or how big their congregation, we are all flawed creatures before God. We have to stand up to anyone that forgets the above tenets.
Hey, being a Pirate is not an easy choice, we may not be popular at times, but we must always be true to the Lord. We will fail, and we will fall, and we surly will sin, as everyone does, but we will get back up and move on in spirit.
That is the Jesus Pirate way!
